Biography

Amanda Fletcher was born in London, England and has lived in Stockholm since 1990. As a child she spent most of her spare time painting and was encouraged to pursue a career in art after winning a national children’s competition at the age of ten. Inspired by a fascination by the Old Masters and struggling to find acceptance in an educational system almost completely dominated by modern art, Amanda decided to pursue her studies at Studio Cecil Graves in Florence, Italy (currently Charles H. Cecil Studios and The Florence Academy of Art). After completing her studies, Amanda moved to Sweden. From 2007 to 2014  Amanda worked as an assistant instructor at The Swedish Academy of Realist Art in Stockholm.

Amanda specialises in portrait and still life commissions and her paintings are in public and private collections in many parts of the world, including England, USA, Australia, Portugal, Italy, Sweden and France.

Amanda currently divides her time between Stockholm and Richmond, London.
